Out In the Community

Hometown Motors is Involved  and Supports Local Events and Charities

Hometown Motors owners and staff are a big part of our Owatonna and Surrounding communities.  All attend Charity Fundraisers, Benefits, Churches, Silent Auctions, and make their best attempt at keep their purchases local when ever possible, putting money directly back into our community. This helps keep locals employed and possibly even creates new jobs in our own market place.

Owatonna Camber of Commerce and Tourism

School Board Advisory Committee

Hometown Motors owner, Daryl, has served on the School Board Advisory Committee.  Topics covered during his term included referendums, statistical evaluations, finance topics of all sorts, budgets, planning for future development as well as cut backs and other tough choices needed to balance the school district budget.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters

Hometown Motors CFO, Char is an active member of this organization and is currently a Big Sister for a young lady.  Char has been a big part of her life as they spend quality time together visiting, going on a walk or to a park, cooking, baking and eating Ice Cream. Yum!

Hometown Motors owners, both Char and Daryl raised their three children as well as nieces and nephews in our local chapter of 4H.  They also were leaders of the Happy Hustlers 4H Club for many years taking on not only their own children, but assisting others with their children as well.  The kids are grown, but Hometown Motors still to this day sponsors many 4H related actions at our local Steele County Free Fair!

Hometown Motors owners are members is good standing with C.O.L.A.(Owatonna Landlord association).  This organization works directly with the Owatonna Police Department and the Owatonna Fire Department as well as local Landlords and Tenants.  Daryl has recently been asked to sit on the advisory board for the Owatonna Landlord Association.  This board meets once a month in the lower level of the Owatonna Police Department and is an organization to better help Landlords and Tenants create a healthy housing experience for all of Owatonna and surrounding communities.

Food shelf / Goodwill /  Charity

Hometown Motors has been donating items to Goodwill, Churches, Fundraisers, Charity Auctions and most often, directly to those in need. Hometown Motors also donates funds to the Steele County Food Shelf during the seasonal drives as well as fundraising events.  This category is most likely their largest Charitable Giving financially.  Our donations to those in need is a substantial percentage of their yearly net profits.
